Weight Loss: Drinks And Foods That Help You Lose Weight

It's not easy to find credible weight Loss drinks and foods that help you lose weight. But they are out there and this article will show you just where to get them. But before we get into the topic itself, it is important to note that most diet foods and weight loss drinks are lies. They do not work.
Statistics constantly show that diet foods including weight watchers meals, low carb foods and most other mainstream products do not work. And when it comes to drinks that help you lose weight, the same can be said. Most diet drinks with low calories and low carbs are also false and do not work. To find the foods and drinks that do help you lose weight, you have to go natural. So let's begin.
Weight Loss Drinks
1. Apple cider vinegar. This isn't the tastiest drink but it's VERY powerful when it comes to weight loss and most of all health improvement. In addition to having many healthy nutrients and vitamins, apple cider vinegar also helps remove undigested food in your body. This will not only get rid of undigested food that will cause weight loss, but it will also prevent any weight gain in the future because it will continually clean your body from the inside. Generally apple cider vinegar should be consumed 2-3 times a day with 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with a cup of water. No less, no more.
Results may vary but in general most people can see weight loss and health improvement results within less than a month.
2. Water. Now earlier I had said to avoid drinking low calorie, low carb drinks but this is just plain water. Water has and always will be the source of life and refeshment. Therefore it is very important that your body be "fed" with water because 70% of your body contains it! The cleaner and more natural the water is, the better your body functions. With it you can lose a lot of weight. Some of the most healthiest celebrities such as Halle Berry say their secret to looking good is drinking a lot of water. It's a simple procedure! Just drink 8 glasses of water daily and you'll see results in less than a month as well!
3. Cranberry juice. This is one of the most powerful weight loss drinks in existence today. It is also as powerful as water. The health benefits of canberry juice are explained below in the foods section. But if you're confused as to how much water and cranberry juice to drink, don't worry! Mix it up. Drink water one day and cranberry juice another. The most important thing here is that you drink more of the above drinks and less of the processed mainstream drinks. Then weight loss will happen very quickly!
Foods That Help You Lose Weight
1. Flaxseeds. Flaxseeds are small seeds that when eaten help digest food better, stoping constipation, bloating and more. In addition this will help digest the foods you eat better causing weight loss to occur. In addition flaxseeds contain omega 3's which help with blood circulation which also help in weight loss.
2. Cranberries. Cranberries contain man health benefits including many vitamins and nutrients that help prevent urinary tract infections, diseases such as cancer and heart disease. How does this lead to weight loss? The more canberries you eat, the healthier you body gets. The healthier your body gets, the better it's metabolism. And fast metabolism = weight loss.
3. Lemons. They may be sour but they are VERY powerful. Though I can't go into the full details of lemons and weight loss, I can however state that they are one of the best ways to lose weight. Lemons cleanse the kidney and many other areas of the body. Cleanse means the cleaning of the body from the inside which can lead to 10-20 pounds of weight loss in a week. More information on lemon cleanses are explained on the page linked below!
The products described above are just a tiny sample of the healthy foods and drinks out there that you can use to lose weight and improve your health at the same time.

How to Deal With Loose Skin

So you've lost a substantial amount of weight, that's awesome. Good for you! Now we have another issue to deal with though. You want to look good without clothes but it's tough with this loose skin that still hangs off your midsection. This is also a worrisome point for people who are looking to lose a lot of weight but haven't yet. I can try to offer my two cents on the issue, although I haven't entirely solved it myself. Again, I'm also pretty new to this whole skinny thing.
I've spent a lot of time in several weight loss forums online and have a personal trainer/dietician and a doctor who I've talked to about these things and the best advice I've heard on the subject is this: Wait for a year after your weight loss to start worrying about loose skin. Many times, fresh after losing a substantial amount of weight, people may go out and get cosmetic surgery to solve the problem of loose skin, which may be the only remedy in the case that you lost an extremely large amount of weight.

Many times however, if you're still young and/or relatively healthy and you didn't lose something like 3 or 400 lbs. the problem will most likely work to correct itself. In this case your skin is still pretty healthy and your blood flow/circulation will help to get oxygen and nutrients to the skin and cause it to naturally mold to your new body. It just takes some time for your skin to get used to the new size of your body but once it does it should tighten up. Another good measure to take in the battle against loose skin is weight training. As I've said before, weight training helps to firm things up a bit. Try some abdominal routines or arm routines if those are your problem areas, which they usually are. Also consult a trainer if you feel the need, they may know more about fitness than some lowly internet voice. It may not be a magic bullet, but it could help. As a last resort, you could consider cosmetic surgery if there is a substantial amount of loose skin that toning and a year's time aren't going to get rid of. But like I said, only consider that as a last resort.

Surgery is not only expensive, but extremely stressful and incapacitating. It's not something you want to go through with if you don't have to. Like the diet itself, the solution to the problem of loose skin, is in most cases, patience.

How To Enjoy Food And Still Lose Weight

I was having lunch in a fairly nice restaurant with a girlfriend the other day when I realized that I ate my food without even tasting it. What a waste! You know, when you eat something without really even realizing you ate it. I ordered a beautiful spinach salad with goat cheese, toasted pecans, cranberries, and a delicious dressing. I finished it in record time because apparently it was a race. As my mouth was full of food, I had my fork loaded with more food, ready, and waiting an inch away form my face. How embarrassing! Do you ever find yourself eating like this?

Eating this way takes all the pleasure out of eating, so what's the point? Food is fuel for our bodies and sometimes that's okay. After I get home from a super long bike ride, like 100kms, I am so hungry and need to get food into my belly that eating is just about giving my body fuel for depleted energy. But the other 35-40 meals I eat every week should be about tasting and enjoying my food, and not about getting it down as fast as I can. When we have to actually chew our food and pay attention to what we are eating, we are inclined to make better food choices and thus, we lose weight.

For most people the pleasure we get from food isn't what it is supposed to be. Do you remember the smell of your mom, dad, grandma, whomever, cooking or baking something you just loved? My childhood memories of food are of my Dad making South African pancakes (similar to crepes) for dinner. Just thinking about it I can smell them, and see my Dad and Mom in the kitchen together making the batter, while my older brother and I crowed around them eagerly, waiting and hoping to get the first one! We are primed, hard-wired to have memories and pleasure from food, but the food industry has totally messed this up. Now what we experience is an addiction to food. And this so-called-food is absolutely awful for us; it can't even be called food. I sincerely hope that our children's memories with food are not of processed, box food that comes out of the microwave. And I'm not saying no to any treats, I make a mean double chocolate chip cookie. But, the difference with homemade isn't just the love, it's the lack of addictive chemicals that are pumped into store bought cookies that keep us sickly addicted, and they don't taste nearly as good as when somebody's Mama makes them!

Lift Weights to Lose Weight

Sounds like an oxymoron, but it's true. I often hear people saying they are afraid to lift weights because they don't want to gain weight or look bigger. The error is in their perception, they couldn't be father from the truth and here's why...

Generally when we say we want to lose weight what we really mean is we want to lose fat, the loose fleshy stuff hanging from arms and thighs or spilling over into a muffin top. Be honest can you pinch some? If not, why read on you're already a god or goddess. For everyone else, that doughy stuff between your fingers are the glad bags of the body. That's right, fat is essentially stored energy in the form of fatty acids that can also contain fat soluble chemicals some even toxic.

Basically human fat comes in two kinds, visceral fat (the stuff around your organs) and subcutaneous fat (the stuff you're pinching). Now let me just say in fats defense, that not all fat is bad. It's necessary for insulation, protecting the body from shock, cell membrane integrity, and that previously mentioned stored energy; you know, in case you get stranded with no food. So, unless you're planning on getting stranded for a really long, long time, maybe we should lose some of it.

To burn off fat safely, effectively and with long term results we should tackle it three ways, 1) diet (that's obvious), 2)cardio ( burn it now) and 3) resistance exercise ( that's right weight training). If you lose weight alone from diet as much as 25% of weight loss can come from lean body mass; that's a significant hit to your metabolism. That means it would take less calories to gain the weight back and when you do the majority will come back as fat, meaning you'd be fatter even at the same weight. Conversely, weight training can increase lean body mass, increasing bone density (that's good), strengthen connective tissue (also good), and building muscle mass. Now consider that muscle is 20% denser than fat. So if you lost 5 lbs. of fat and gained 5 lbs. of muscle though you'd weigh the same, you would look smaller and all with no jiggle.

A pound of muscle burns about 50 calories a day in metabolism, though it doesn't sound like much, add 2 pounds of it and that muscle would burn off 10 pounds of fat in a year. Not too shabby now is it? Best of all maintain that muscle and that newly svelte body you got from that great diet and cardio work will be much easier to maintain...at last no yo-yoing.
Resistance exercise should be performed 3 times per week for at least 30 minutes per session.
